Fort Lauderdale has more boats than parking spaces and more bridges than patience. It's home base for us, and a lot of catamarans and motor yachts start or end their journeys here: new boats heading to owners, owners heading to the Bahamas, and everybody heading somewhere on a Saturday.

We line up licensed captains for deliveries, relocations, and new-owner runs across South Florida, for catamarans and motor yachts roughly 40 to 100 feet.

What we do here

Deliveries. Up and down the coast, to the islands, or across the state, with a captain who plans the route and tells you straight when the weather says wait.
Relocations. Moving the boat for the season, for a yard period, or to a new slip.
Captains for new owners. A captain aboard while you learn the boat, including when your insurer wants one on board for now.
Owner training, next door. Our sister company YachtTrain is based here too. It runs a six-day week on your own boat after closing, the kind of training insurers commonly accept for sign-off. Whether it satisfies your policy depends on your insurer, so check your own policy or ask your agent.

Local knowledge

Port Everglades. The main inlet is deep and well marked, and it's shared with cruise ships, tankers, and cargo. Timing and radio etiquette matter.
The New River. Tight turns, current, and a parade of yachts. It's where a captain who's done it before earns their keep.
Bridges. The ICW through Broward is lined with drawbridges, many on opening schedules. A trip that's short on the chart can be long on the clock.
Crossing to the Bahamas. Bimini is roughly 50 nautical miles away, and the Gulf Stream sits in between. A north wind against the Stream is the reason captains watch forecasts instead of calendars.
Neighboring inlets. Hillsboro, Boca, and Lake Worth to the north and Haulover to the south each have their own moods. Some are fine in a light easterly and not fine in anything else.

Q1 Can you take my boat to the Bahamas?

Yes, when the weather allows. The captain picks the window, and you'll hear the reasoning. The captain and owner sort out the paperwork for the route before departure, and what's needed depends on the boat and the trip.

Q2 Do you do deliveries from Fort Lauderdale up the East Coast?

Yes, including north to Hampton Roads, where we have our second base.

Q3 Do you handle catamarans and motor yachts?

Yes, both, roughly 40 to 100 feet. We match the captain to the boat.

Q4 My insurer wants a captain aboard. Can you help?

We can provide a captain. Your policy decides the specifics, so check your own policy or ask your agent.

Q5 How far ahead should I book?

Earlier is better, especially around boat show season and ahead of hurricane season, which runs June 1 to November 30. We can't promise a captain or a date until we've talked, and weather has the final say on departure.
